Quantum computing is a very interesting topic for the next twenty years. As Moore's law states, every 18 months the number of transistors double on a microprocessor. Eventually those transistors will get so small we'll begin working at the atomic level leading to quantum computation. This will allow for mind numbingly faster computing for large amounts of data and research. Able to crack some of the hardest encryptions in possibly minutes that would take a classical computer hours or even days. Simple quantum computers have already been made that can only do early math problems as of now for testing purposes. In time hopefully we'll all have computers the size of our thumb that can compute on the same level as some of the biggest classic computers of our time.
